Researching different cities in Europe, the US and China for the pilot deployment and creating a strategy on where to deploy, which year, and why.

My Role:
  • Studied major cities across Europe, the US, and China, analyzing various indices and rankings.

  • Defined and created parameters to assess each city's 'readiness for PONS service'.

  • Examined how local Public Transport Authorities engage with existing mobility services.

  • Summarized findings to show: recommended cities, parameter performance, progress category, PTA openness, best-fit PONS service type, and suggested deployment year.

The study was summarized in the form of infographics.

Organisation challenge:

NEVS developed an autonomous ride sharing solution. They need to identify the suitable real environment for pilot deployment to measure the impact of the service.

Approach

Different parameters were identified to evaluate each city. This was based on different studies done on urban mobility.

Example of parameters:
  •    Vision & strategy

  •    Maturity of MaaS

  •    Regulatory environment

  •    Transport affordability

  •    Sustainability initiatives

The cities in comparison were also mapped out on the basis of Market regulations and Innovation Initiatives.

Results

The outcome of this assignment was well appreciated and is considered for creating the future business models for NEVS.

Highlights

The work was well appreciated and used for creating business models.

Challenges

I was not confident enough about handling such a fundamental piece of data, on which the business models are developed.

Learnings

With the help of my senior colleagues, I regained my confidence in myself and was convinced that even an entry-level member of the company could direct the company with valid data and reasoning.
